JOB TITLE: Education Programs Manager

Description
ELISA is seeking candidates to join our dynamic team in the role of Education Programs Manager. The Programs Manager will provide critical project implementation support for several of our education programs. S/he will work closely with other members of the ELISA team.  This is a full-time position based in Dete, Zimbabwe, reporting to the founder of ELISA. Fluency in English, Shona, Ndebele and Nambya, and the ability to travel on short notice is required.

Qualifications

  • PhD / Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Scientific background and understanding of high school STEM curriculum (Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology). 
  • The ability to travel on short notice

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent work streams
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills
  • Eloquence and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be highly computer literate and Proficient with Excel
  • Technical experience in education and/or workforce development
  • Fluency in English, Shona, Ndebele and Nambya
  • Experience working with rural communities
  • Experience working with international colleagues
  • Self-starter and ability to work under minimal supervision 
  • Capacity to produce high quality briefs and reports
  • Eligibility to work in Zimbabwe

Responsibilities

  • Managing curriculum development
  • Preparing program schedules and managing logistics
  • Liaising with Directors, Teachers and Students
  • Work with school heads and teachers to produce lesson plans for form 1-4 students
  • Preparing budgets for educational programs
  • Excellent coordination, scheduling and planning skills
  • Experience with data collection and analysis 
  • Ability to conduct and facilitate workshops
  • Experience with e-learning and web-based computer technology
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills
  • Recruit and field international and local volunteers for short-term activities in Zimbabwe
  • Develop scopes of work and staff position descriptions; prepare activity reports and other deliverables, as required
  • Contribute to and/or participate in assessments, research/analysis, field interviews, curricula development for training, and evaluations;
  • Support project communications, including website content, articles, success stories, blog posts, etc.
  • As business dictates, support cross-practice projects and business development needs
  • Other activities as required by the project and/or practice
